    1. Lumberjack red plaid used to be a gay signifier from the ’80s into the ’90s.
      Some years later when hipsters started appearing and wearing red plaid it was very confusing for awhile there. “Why are these gay men holding hands with women?”
      But such are the cycles of fashion.
