My uncle was one of the engineers on that run and told me that the tight curves on the Arbutus Line caused them concern for such a big radius engine.. But they made it to Marpole.
I have copy of this photo (a favourite and legitimately purchased) framed, and hanging on my wall. A time capsule of a different Vancouver.
