- Yes, it seems that in some places in Tokyo, residential vacancy rates are in the double-digits
- Yes, a remarkable number of Japanese people are living (and dying) alone
- Yes, a relatively recent survey suggested that almost half of young Japanese men and women are virgins

So you might be expecting that the metro is so overcrowded that they have train personnel charged with pushing people onto the cars to mash in maximum capacity. It’s a myth. Ginza station, rush hour. Less crowded than SkyTrain. Or maybe all the commuters are somewhere else.
