What happened to the fountain? The VCPC Year In Review panel overlooked the transformative impact on the city of rebuilding the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza. City council ascribed a higher value to social infrastructure over fancy architecture, physical structures and, alas, fountains. That sounds really significant! Regardless, the 16-foot high marble sculpture in the midst of the fountain, with its handcrafted mosaic tile basin, dominated the square for almost 50 years. Where is it now?
