To think that Calgary’s East Village area sat derelict for over 30 years!
Nice. I like it but have a few comments.
That planter could’ve had its edge be wider so function as a bench.
There’s a pinch point there at the corner of the patio. I predict they’ll have to remove the tree or modify the patio some day.
Other than that it’s great!

Nice to see trees with proper room to grow and not strangled by concrete!
There is likely to be extensive vaulting below the paving to accommodate tree roots. This is the way to go in cities.

To make it better, the retail tenant on the alley (towards the narrower end) is a growler-filling joint with 48 taps.
