Public Art — Mural Festival 2017 (1)

Last year’s results were terrific, so I’m looking forward to spending time checking out the 2017 Mural Festival.
Quote from VMF:

This summer we will be presenting two separate community events in the Mount Pleasant and Strathcona neighbourhoods as part of our festival. Close to 1OO,OOO people are expected to join us to celebrate the creation of more than 5O new large scale murals in East Vancouver.

Here’s 4 days into the project by Paul Windsor + Jeska Slater:   “Eagle Opens Up”.  Located just west of 5th and Main.  The artists used projection techniques to first sketch in the figures.   [Click to enlarge].

What a great idea this is.  Transforming blank walls into art — rich with colour, shapes, history, fun, cultures.
