Downtown Library Expansion

Construction begins, involving hoardings, cranes, big vehicles and people in hardhats.  Homer and W. Georgia, looking south (more or less).  The result will be 40,000 sq. ft. (costing ~$15.5M) of upgrades to VPL Downtown.

  1. I used to do the landscaping at VPL main branch and lrb downtown. It’s a nice roof garden space. Designer envisioned an image of the Fraser river(visible on google satellite view) $3000/hour but not impressive gardening. The goose family would try knocking me off the edge often. Mostly it was nice to walk barefoot and lounge there on breaks. Access is only a small fire door hatch in roof.
Cannot figure where all my/our money is going to on this project.
