It’s mid-summer – and this long weekend is the most frenetic of the year: extreme weather (for Vancouver), fireworks, Pride Parade, parties.
So no better place to take a break than the gorgeous green relief of Van Dusen Gardens (37th and Oak) – one of the gems of this city. And you can take in a bit of art too: the Sculptures’ Society of B.C.‘s annual exhibition.
Sure, always a bit of kitsch (how many pieces can be named ‘Circle of Life’?) – but there’s a surprising diversity of work (and it’s for sale).
And the setting can’t be beat.
