I often wonder if other people see the city the way that I do, and which I try to illustrate in some of my photos. In these two, I see people moving around, using different means to get from here to there. And the visual, the urban landscape, is so compelling that I find great pleasure in these photos.

UPDATE: This message came into another site with Ken’s pics on them. Worth printing here, with our agreement:
Hi there! Great pics! You´re absolutely right. Vancouver is a great city for everybody, cyclists included. I lived there in 2011 and I miss it a lot! Take advantage, you are so lucky! And cycling in Van is getting better, isn’t it? Thank you and congrats for making cycling easier and safer in Vancouver.

And a response from Ken:
Hi Toño:
Thanks for the kind words. I am very pleased to hear from you.
There is no doubt that it is becoming easier and better to travel by bike in Vancouver. And more people are doing it more often.
I can’t take much credit for the change — but a lot goes to HUB, and its talented group of staff and volunteers. And to the City of Vancouver, whose staff are getting better all the time at building and maintaining bike-related things. And to the citizens of Vancouver, who continue to elect politicians who favour bike riding.
I hope that my photos help persuade people that travelling by bike is a normal everyday thing done by normal everyday people.
If I left Vancouver, I think I’d miss it too. Here’s another photo from yesterday.
