That’s depressing. I visited Syria in 2006 and it was at the time one of the most photogenic countries I visited. I imagine much of that beauty is gone now, even before we start counting the human cost of this disaster. I keep hoping that a solution will be found to move the country forward diplomatically, but as the years drag on it seems like there isn’t even anyone left to negotiate with who could be considered “in charge.”
