Jobs Jar: UDI CEO

Maureen Enser is retiring as CEO of the Urban Development Institute.  No doubt many will be passing on their appreciation for her commitment to the organization, and to many others, including the International Centre for Sustainable Cities.   She’ll be hard to replace – but they’re looking.

Urban Development Institute Pacific Region

Chief Executive Officer

With the upcoming retirement of the incumbent, an opportunity exists for a CEO who can lead UDI* through the next stage of evolution.  With liveable and sustainable communities on the minds of politicians and bureaucrats across the province, the opportunity to affect positive and progressive policy development has never been greater.  To capitalize on this opportunity, you must be a strong, strategic leader who has the ability to: enhance the organization’s position as a thought leader in the minds of government, media and the public through well developed communication strategies; develop member and educational programs that support member engagement; and work with the industry to ensure members are proactively informed of the changing municipal policy landscapes. This is a challenging opportunity to be an advocate and affect change in support of progressive approaches to development that will have lasting effects on the communities and economy of British Columbia.

As the ideal candidate, you are an experienced, results-focused organizational leader with tremendous insight and knowledge of the inner workings of municipal and provincial government, and have garnered credibility working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. You are a highly-skilled communicator and influencer who can effectively engage and build relationships with a broad range of people. Financially astute and business savvy, you will provide visionary and strategic leadership to the Board and staff within the Institute.
