Claims like the ones in Mr. Hume’s op-ed need a foundation in data and research to be taken seriously. It sounds as if he’s basing his conclusions on anecdotal observations of a few Canadian and Northern European cities on the handful of days he happened to be passing through them. He may be right, but I cannot accept the piece at face value.
